Art has always had two main purposes in my life; I have used it as a kind of journal, to illustrate my inner thoughts and honour my life transitions, and I've used it as a means of celebrating the beauty and sacredness of the natural world around me. I have lived by the sea for most of my adult life, so a recurring theme in my work has been the line where land and sea meet - that part of the land that is sometimes above water, sometimes below it, carved and caressed by the changing moods of the ocean. I also love making "shrines" and arrangements of natural materials in the woods and on the moors and coast paths around my home.
I work with a variety of media, as you'll see below. My work (apart from the cards) is very rarely produced with selling in mind, but I do exhibit my work when time allows. Forthcoming exhibitions will be mentioned in the news section of my homepage... if you'd like an invitation let me know.
